Queen Elizabeth ‘found Trump rude’ and ‘questioned’ marriage with Melania

A new biography on the late Queen Elizabeth II has claimed she found former President Donald Trump ‘very rude’ – and also questioned the leader’s marriage.

The claims have been made by Craig Brown in his new book ‘A Voyage Around The Queen’, and also claims Elizabeth believed Trump and his wife Melania had ‘some sort of arrangement’.

A portion of Brown’s book, published in the Daily Mail, read: ‘A few weeks after President Trump’s visit, for instance, she confided in one lunch guest that she found him “very rude”.

‘She particularly disliked the way he couldn’t stop looking over her shoulder, as though in search of others more interesting.

‘She also believed President Trump “must have some sort of arrangement” with his wife Melania, or else why would she have remained married to him?’

Trump was hosted by the Queen multiple times, but only once for an official state visit in 2019.

He boasted to Fox News of his ‘great relationship’ with the Queen of England, saying: ‘

‘We were laughing and having fun. And her people said she hasn’t had so much fun in 25 years.

‘Then I got criticised for it because they said we were having too much fun… I feel I know her so well and she certainly knows me very well right now, but we have a very good relationship with the United Kingdom.’

Steven Cheung, communications director for Trump’s re-election campaign slammed the book’s claims, telling Newsweek: ‘This is nothing more than fake news intended to use made-up, salacious fabrications in order to sell copies of a book that belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section.’

Trump, who met the Queen in 2018 and 2019, has long expressed deep admiration for the monarch.

‘What a grand and beautiful lady she was – there was nobody like her!’ the former president wrote on Truth Social moments after news of her death was shared.

The former president said he and his wife, Melania, were ‘deeply saddened to learn of the loss’ and would always cherish the time they got to spend with her.

‘Together with our family and fellow Americans, we send our sincere condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom during this time of great sorrow and grief,’ he added.

While it’s unclear whether the affection was reciprocated, many believe the Queen made a sly dig at Trump during his 2018 visit.

At the time of Trump’s first visit, the monarch wore a brooch personally given to her from former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, which many interpreted as a sign of disapproval.

During his visit Trump also made headlines for committing a social faux pas by disrespectfully walking in front of the Queen.

Hundreds of thousands gathered in protest during his visits, and even flew a 20-foot blimp depicting a nappy-clad Trump over Trafalgar Square.
