ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Happy Tuesday! Meteorologist Matt Mackie says it will be a chilly day with winds reinforcing the lower temperatures in the 60s, but the higher temperatures will return later in the week.

The Democratic National Convention kicked off on Monday in Chicago. Also, NEWS10 joined the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office in a sting operation looking to remove flavored vapes from the county store shelves. This, and more, in your five things to know this Tuesday.

1. Democratic National Convention underway

Roughly 4,000 delegates will be at the Democratic National Convention, with 307 of them from New York.

2. Sting operation for flavored tobacco vapes

Flavored tobacco vapes were outlawed in New York back in 2020. So, why are New Yorkers still able to get the vapes? NEWS10 goes on a sting operation with one Capital Region Sheriff’s office to learn more about the efforts that are being taken, there.

3. Longest-serving police horse in the US retires

Sam, the longest-serving police horse in the United States, officially retired today after 23 years of dedicated service with the Albany Police Department’s Mounted Unit. The 25-year-old horse arrived at Little Brook Farm in Old Chatham this morning, where he will spend his retirement.

4. Five arrested in Saratoga County after drug investigation

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office made five arrests on Monday in connection to a drug investigation. The arrests took place on Arapaho Path in Saratoga Springs and Rowland Street in Milton.

5. Druthers Brewing Company to manage Blackbirds Tavern

Druthers Brewing Company will be in charge of managing the Voorheesville restaurant Blackbirds Tavern opening in the fall. This is under a new agreement with Business for Good co-founders Ed and Liza Mitzen.
