Rays blanked for a two-hit shutout at the Oakland Coliseum

Yet another head-scratching offensive output for Tampa Bay.

On an evening (and one of the few left at the Oakland Coliseum) where the Rays garnered just two hits and six walks, the A’s take advantage and blank Tampa Bay 3-0 on their first game of the west coast trip.

Yandy Diaz and Josh Lowe collect the Rays’ only total bases on the evening, as Joe Boyle throws six two-hit innings.

Grant Holman, Tyler Ferguson, and Mason Miller earn two holds and a save, respectively, to lock down the final three innings in front of 3,938 to secure the A’s 54th win of the season.

Taj Bradley collects the loss, throwing six innings, allowing three earned runs on three walks, two strikeouts, and a JJ Bleday two-run tater.

The Rays and A’s will play again tomorrow evening at 9:40 PM EST, with Shane Baz toeing the slab opposite Joey Estes for the A’s.
