Bee Cave City Council votes to file lawsuit to stop development near residential area
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Bee Cave City Council voted Monday morning to file a lawsuit to stop the development of the KBC Service Center Distribution Facility, Bee Cave Mayor Kara King told KXAN Monday.
The center is near the intersection of Highway 71 and Serene Hills Drive. Leaders with the city council told KXAN the property is actually in Bee Cave's extra-territorial jurisdiction, despite the proximity to the city of Lakeway.
The lawsuit voted on Monday morning seeks an injunction, and by Monday evening, the Lakeway City Council voted to join the lawsuit.
Online plans show the property could accommodate big rigs with 80 docking bays. However, the project is right next to a residential area.
KXAN reached out to the companies behind the project, and we will update this article if a statement is received.
