Larnaca police arrest man for drugs

Larnaca police on Monday arrested a man for an investigated case of illegal drug possession.

The 29-year-old was taken into custody after officers on patrol overnight tried to intercept a motorcycle with no licence plate.

The driver attempted to flee and collided with an official vehicle.

Police found a cocaine weighing approximately 40 grams in the motorcycle’s locker, as well as 228 grams of cannabis.

Money and two mobile phones were also found in the man’s possession which were confiscated as evidence.

The Larnaca anti-drug unit (Ykan) is furthering the investigation.
