Significant increase in private healthcare reimbursements in Finland: Over €50 million paid out in early 2024

In the first seven months of 2024, reimbursements for private healthcare appointments in Finland saw a significant surge, with the total amount exceeding €50 million. This marks an increase of more than €31 million compared to the same period in 2023, when reimbursements totaled around €19 million.

The notable rise in reimbursements follows the adjustment of reimbursement amounts by Kela, Finland's social insurance institution, which took effect on January 1, 2024.
