Haryana: Term over in 2022, ex-councillors now given monitoring powers

The urban local bodies department granted municipal councillors powers to oversee ward projects until new ward committees form. Councillors' responsibilities included planning, budgeting, and maintenance tasks. However, elections and the model code of conduct delayed actionable approvals. A meeting allowance and funds for national event organization were also introduced for councillors.
