Spurs half-time ratings vs Leicester – Only one team in it

0

Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty-five minutes of action in tonight’s Premier League opener at Leicester City.

Ange Postecoglou’s side head into the break at the King Power Stadium currently 1-0 ahead courtesy of Pedro Porro’s goal.

Tottenham half-time ratings vs Leicester City

Guglielmo Vicario: Apart from a headed clearance, has not been troubled. 6.

Pedro Porro: His crossing has been impressive, as usual. Put Spurs ahead with an attempt which came off his shoulder. 7.

Cristian Romero: Headed narrowly wide from a Pedro Porro cross. Vardy has caused him no issues. 7.

Micky van de Ven: So composed, the Rolls Royce is back. 7.

Destiny Udogie: Has dealt brilliantly with the rare threat of Leicester down the right apart from just before half-time when he had a lapse of concentration and was lucky to avoid a booking. 7.

Rodrigo Bentancur: His headed flick-on from Maddison’s corner looked to be going in until Ndidi cleared it. Has done well to get the ball moving and also out of possession. 7.

Pape Matar Sarr: Has done well in the middle of the park alongside Bentancur. 7.

James Maddison: Up against his old side. Has looked much more like the player we saw at the start of last season – a beautiful cross for Porro’s goal. His delivery from corner kicks has been decent. 8.

Heung-Min Son: Looks so comfortable back in his familiar position on the left. 7.

Dominic Solanke: Had his first chance on seven minutes with a header from a Son cross and he will be disappointed not to have scored, had a couple of other half chances. 7.

Brennan Johnson: Inches wide from a goal when his volley went back across goal. 7.
