Guidelines for parent communications: WhatsApp and social media
This year’s parent and family WhatsApp group is managed by Alastair Edge, father of Matthew Edge, who is the 2024-25 parent representative on the CUBC Alumni & Parent Engagement Committee. It operates independently of the Club and should be used to connect with other parents, ask questions, and share photos.
The following guidelines apply for communicating with other parents.
- Groups should never be used as platforms to air views/grievances regarding coaches, members of staff, student-athletes, or other parents.
- Groups should be used keeping in mind mutual respect and sensitivity between all its members.
- Any safeguarding concerns should be directed to the Club Welfare Officer or to admin@cubc.org.uk.
- It is considered inappropriate to use social media or WhatsApp groups to publicly challenge Club policies, selection, or to discuss issues about individual student-athletes.
Not abiding by these guidelines will lead to membership in any WhatsApp groups being revoked.
