Monday's Oregon weather word of the day: Pleasant
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Cooler daytime highs and showery moments are on the way as we head into this new week. But hopefully you can get out and enjoy Monday's weather because it will be our warmest, driest and sunniest afternoon of the workweek following some morning clouds.
Monday's afternoon highs are expected to reach the mid- to upper-70s all along the I-5 corridor.
We still have a weather alert in place Monday for portions of Oregon due to moderate air quality and hazy skies.
An Air Quality Advisory is in effect through Monday afternoon for portions of central Oregon including Bend and Sun River. Plus, parts of southern Oregon are also under an Air Quality Advisory, which includes Lakeview and Klamath Falls. It's recommended to limit time outside if you see hazy conditions.
For the week around Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington, afternoon temperatures remain a few degrees -- or even 10 degrees -- below our seasonal high average of 82 degrees.
The wettest and coolest day around the metro area looks to be Thursday with a daytime high of 71 degrees and scattered showers in the forecast.
