8/19/2024: Clouds, showers, few storms
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
We're in for one more muggy and unsettled day as an area of low pressure pushes across our region.
Expect mostly dry conditions this morning, with clouds and only a few light, scattered showers. Rain chances increase after lunchtime, with the chance for a few stronger storms to develop in the mid-afternoon.
Most of the News10 region is in a "marginal" risk for severe weather today. While severe weather will not be widespread, one or two storms may be capable of producing torrential rain and gusty winds.
Heavy rain fizzles after sunset, with only a few lingering light showers overnight and into early Tuesday morning. It will be cooler, with blustery winds blowing out of the northwest in the wake of this system.
More and more sun as Tuesday goes on, with temperatures running well below average - only in the low 70's in the Capital District.
Even cooler Wednesday with another system bringing clouds and showers. Most will peak in the 60's for highs!
Brighter for the end of the week, with temperatures gradually rising back to seasonable levels.
