Newcastle given green light to sign EUROs winner for just £20 million
Newcastle United are embroiled in an ongoing battle to sign Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, but according to recent reports, could also bring in a new winger.
The Magpies have had four bids for Guehi rejected and while it remains unknown if they’ll return with a fifth, Eddie Howe is believed to be considering bringing in a new right-sided winger.
Although a lot will depend on Miguel Almiron’s future with the Paraguay international heavily linked with leaving St. James’ Park, according to recent reports, one player the Geordies are keeping tabs on is Juventus and Italy 2020 EUROs winner Federico Chiesa.
The Italian wide-man is available for transfer for as little as £20 million after Thiago Motta made it abundantly clear the 26-year-old has no place in his first-team plans.
Rumoured to be considering making an approach before the August 30th transfer deadline, Newcastle United could be best placed to bring the talented winger to the Premier League following years of speculation he could play in England’s top flight.
