Pakistan confirms mpox case is not new strain

Health officials confirmed that a 34-year-old Pakistan man diagnosed with mpox was infected with Clade 2b, not the new Clade 1b strain spreading in Africa. The World Health Organization has declared Clade 1b's rapid spread in Africa a public health emergency. Sweden also recorded its first Clade 1b case outside Africa.
