I’ve collected my Boots points for years and now have enough to get a Dyson hairdryer – it’s all about the girl math
A WOMAN has been praised after sharing how she saved up enough Boots Advantage points to get a FREE Dyson hairdryer.
Cindy explained that she’s collected the points in the store for “five years” in order to have enough to get the free appliance – 19,999 points.
The store is famous for its Advantage Card deals[/caption] You get 3 points for every £1, which means Cindy would have had to spend £6,666 to get the free Dyson if she hadn’t taken advantage of double points and point deals[/caption]Taking to TikTok, Cindy shared a screenshot of the Dyson in her Boots basket, writing over the top: “POV you’ve saved up your @bootsuk points and girl mathed yourself a free Dyson.”
“Thank you @bootsuk @dyson,” Cindy wrote in the caption.
Referencing the current “very demure, very mindful” social media trend, she added: “Very cutesy, I don’t spend my points, I collect them.
“Very mindful.”
People were quick to comment on the TikTok, with one writing: “I just went to check my boots points and I have £3.69.
“Trying to be like you!”
“Keep going – never spend them!!!” Cindy advised.
“Omg I just calculated how much you would have to spend in boots to get this for free (based on no extra reward points),” another added.
“Mad!
“You get 4 points for £1 spent so just under £5k!”
In fact, the Advantage Card conditions were recently changed, so now you get three points per £1.
Working on that, she would have spent £6,666 in Boots to get 19,999 points.
However, someone else pointed out she could have been taking advantage of double point offers.
“I get 8 points per £1 of baby item,” they wrote.
“So 2.5k in baby clothes and things and I can get another.”
There are also regular deals which enable users to enjoy more points for their purchase.
How do Boots points work?
JUST how does Boots' Advantage Card scheme work?
All you need to do is sign up to get one of the cards, and you can start earning straight away.
You’ll get three points for every £1 you spend in store, and will also unlock instant savings that you can access through the app.
Build up points and check what they’re worth in-store at the till, online via your account or using the app.
You can then use your points value instead of cash next when shopping at Boots.
You can redeem the points as you go, or save them up for a big purchase.
Cindy responded to that in another comment, as she said: “I would save my baskets on double point offerings etc as well.”
“I get to £4 and then use my points for a meal deal,” someone else sighed.
As another wrote: “And then there’s me feeling class with my £17.80 in points!”
“This is the greatest flex of all time!” someone else praised.
“Omg I found my tribe!” another added.
“This is girl maths at it’s finest love this for you.
“Currently on £258 worth of points – let’s not talk about how much I’ve spent to accumulate that!”
“If you haven’t already, if you want to save up more points look at the recycle at Boots app!” someone else said.
“Recycle 5 product containers and get 500 points voucher when you spend £10.”
“I got this exact hair dryer when it had £50 off,” another wrote.
“Girl you will never use another hair dryer!”
With Cindy replying: “I’m in love already. Feel better because it was free.”
The Dyson Supersonic hairdryer is currently £329.99 in Boots.
