Former Indian Army chief General S Padmanabhan passes away at 83

Former Indian Army Chief General Sundararajan Padmanabhan has passed away in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, according to a statement by the Indian Army on Monday. General Padmanabhan, who was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery, became the 20th Chief of Army Staff on September 30, 2000.
