BREAKING: Bicyclist in Lafayette struck in hit-and-run this morning

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- The Lafayette Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run involving a bicyclist early this morning.
Officers said the incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the 1600 block of Louisiana Avenue. The bicyclist was struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene, according to authorities.
The victim of the hit-and-run was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
