This Southeast Portland popup club's job is 'beach'

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- For those looking to feel some sand between their toes, but can't make the drive to the coast, a Southeast Portland club may have just what you need.

Touting itself as "Portland's largest urban beach club," the Portland Plage (French for 'beach') is a popup built in the heart of inner Southeast Portland, close to the Morrison Bridge.

During the day, people can rent cabanas with private pools, loungers and beach chairs, enjoy food and drink, as well as DJ sets throughout the day.

Then in the evening, the beach party takes over, with the Plage describing it as "Ibiza meets Mykonos beach party."

"It's been so much fun seeing people come out to the Central Eastside to have fun," said Plage co-founder Emma Evans.

You can visit the next two upcoming weekends from Thursday through Sunday.

"The Portland Plage is here for a good time, not a long time," Evans said. "Just like the Portland summer."

To find additional events and popups which may be happening, you can follow Portland Plage on Instagram.
