Kuharevich Back On Target Despite Defeat

0

Hibs striker Mykola Kuharevich was disappointed after we exited the Premier Sports Cup.

We fell to a 3-1 defeat to Celtic at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon, with Nicholas Kühn and Daizen Maeda (x2) on the scoresheet for the hosts.

Two quick goals in the first half meant it was always an uphill battle for the Hibee at Celtic Park. But Mykola’s excellent diving header pulled us right back into the game before a defensive mistake cost us in the second half.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Kuharevich admitted it was a frustrating afternoon.

“We are disappointed, it is a tough result for us. We conceded poor goals at the start of the game and we need to be better in those moments. It is what is, we need to keep going and make sure we improve.

“It is always hard when you start a game like that and concede early goals. We have to work on this period of the game for sure and make sure we learn our lessons for next time.”

Mykola’s header was his first goal for the Club since he rejoined on loan earlier this month, and the striker hopes that this goal can be a springboard for further success this season.

“It is always good to score goals, especially against a team like Celtic and at a Stadium like Celtic Park. But we didn’t win the game, so it was a different feeling.

“It is an important goal for me and it will give me confidence going into the next games.

“We have to work hard this week, refocus on the next game and give our fans a positive result against Dundee next Saturday.”
