Lafayette Parish School System to hold Family Literacy Night
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A Family Literacy Night will be held on Aug. 29 for parents and caregivers in the Lafayette area.
Lafayette Parish School System is partnering with Learning Ally and The Dollar General Literacy Foundation to host the event.
Family Literacy Night will be held at Broadmoor Elementary School on 609 Broadmoor Blvd. at 5:30 p.m. Participants can also attend via Zoom.
Family Literacy Night will give parents and caregivers new tips and information about how to help their children develop good reading skills. The event will promote new ways to support your child and help them grow.
Parents and caregivers will be taught ways to engage with children while reading at home and learn more on-the-go activities, games, and resources.
Children are welcome to attend Family Literacy Night for a book read-aloud. Parents and caregivers at the event will be entered into a raffle for a $50 gift card.
