NEC withdraws 'Vision Plan 2047' over Kuki migration error
The North Eastern Council (NEC) has withdrawn its draft ‘Vision Plan 2047’ after incorrectly stating that the Kukis migrated from the 'Chin State of Manipur.' The error, which referred to the Kukis as originating from the Chin State, located in Myanmar, rather than recognizing their presence in the northeastern states of India, was addressed following a complaint to Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. The draft document, which outlines the vision for the northeastern states until 2047, will be revised to correct this mistake.
