Why get angry at Andrew Benintendi, for example, seeing as how he only drains about 13% of the payroll and we all fall down and wet ourselves when he as much as a throws a two-hopper on line to the plate from shallow left.
Anyhow, La Pantera wasted no time in trying to worm his way back into all of your cold, callused hearts, seeing a dozen pitches all game but positively pouncing on Houston pitching for four hits, including two homers. Would if we got this guy, the 12th in MVP voting just one year ago guy, the rest of the season.
On August 16, the Chicago White Sox won their 30th game. In no other season in history — and remember, pre-expansion the year started even later and more off-days were offset by frequent doubleheaders — has it taken longer than July 28 for the White Sox to win 30.
