How old is my Laser dinghy 16162

I own a very old laser dinghy. It's sail number is 16162. It shows 16162 under the bow eye. l have been estimating it's early 1970's. Does anyone know the exact year it might be? By the way, it still sails well. I've upgraded loads on it and club race it. It's only me that lets it's performance down
