COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A central Ohio restaurant is getting national attention after being featured in an episode of Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives."

Katalina's, which has locations in Harrison West and Clintonville, was part of Fridays night's episode of the show in which Guy Fieri takes viewers to restaurants around the country.

"I’ll be honest, when I first moved to Columbus -- that's when Guy was on the Food Network -- all my friends said 'you should try out, you should try out,' and I didn't have the confidence," Kathleen Day, owner of Katlina's, said. "So he’s the OG of the Food network, to cook with him, I mean, I don't know what to say, I'm not worthy."

Katalina's is known for their pancake balls. Both those and their 'Everything But The Chicken Sink Sammy' were part of the episode.

"It's thrilling too. I love cooking and my staff does amazing and I think they execute so well, so to finally get that spotlight for a food Columbus has always known and loved is just beyond a dream," Day said.

Day said she learned to make her fried chicken from her grandmother. She told NBC4 its exciting to see the food in the spotlight.

"I just hope Columbus is as thrilled as we are because they’ve been so supportive and embracing of Katalina's from the start. I want everyone to watch and just feel proud not for us but for Columbus," she said.

A third Katalina's is under construction in Bexley, with hopes to open this fall.
