Kaplan man charged with attempted second-degree murder in Thursday stabbing
VERMILION PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- Police responded to a 911 call about a stabbing with one victim on Thursday night at South Herpin Street in Kaplan.
Hunter Harrington, 26, of Kaplan, was arrested on the charge of attempted second-degree murder.
Upon arriving at the scene, police said they found one victim who had been stabbed in the chest. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment and is now in stable condition.
The investigation has revealed that a verbal disagreement between the two men escalated into a physical altercation. Authorities said Harrington stabbed the other man in the torso before he fled the scene.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Harrington and, after learning of his whereabouts, were able to locate him, according to police. Harrington was taken into custody without incident.
Harrington has been booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center.
His bond is $100,000.
