F-15 Eagle fighter jet on display in Glenville
GLENVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- "The Greatest Fighter in History" is now a permanent staple in the Empire State. The F-15 Eagle Fighter Jet was decommissioned by the 109th Airlift Wing this week after its final flight from Western Massachusetts to Glenville.
The jet was brought inside the Empire State Aerosciences Museum on Friday where it will be permanently on display for people to visit and learn more about the history of the jet and others like it.
"This is the most spectacular, most successful fighter in history. It's been in service for the U.S. Air Force for 50 years now," Kevin Millington of the Board of Directors said. "It's a spectacular fighter, a perfect combination of power and speed, and the radar is spectacular."
Saturday is the monthly breakfast event at the museum.
