ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A crime scene in Schenectady is connected to the suicide of the man who jumped off the Patroon Island Bridge, Thursday.. State Police say he is the primary suspect in the death of his parents found in their home. NEWS10 is learning more on the investigation and hearing from neighbors shocked by all three deaths.

Police say their investigation into Thursday’s suicide that shut down 787 for hours led them to 6 Morris Avenue in Schenectady, where they found the bodies of David and Kathryn Miklowitz. An autopsy revealed the cause of death were injuries resulting from blunt force trauma.

Neighbors say they were scared seeing police shut down their street for the investigation. “My father used to park his truck right here and there was always people outside doing lawn work and everything but never had any issues on the street,” said neighbor, Brianna Breglia.

It was Thursday at about 4:00 p.m. when State Police were called to the Patroon Island Bridge for reports of an individual threatening to jump.  That man has been identified as Jordan R. Miklowitz. Police say the 35-year-old, lived with his parents in Schenectady. State Police say the evidence and statements from conversations with Jordan placed him as the primary suspect in the double homicide investigation.

“It's very, very shocking. Very scary,” said the neighbor.

Miklowitz eventually did take his own life by jumping off the Patroon Island Bridge. State Police say their investigations into the double homicide and the bridge incident remain ongoing, but they do not believe there is any threat to the public at this time.

“Anything could really happen. It's just scary because you just never know somebody's next move, or what's happening in the house next door, really,” said Breglia.

State Police were assisted at the scene of 6 Morris Avenue by the Schenectady Police Department and the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office. On Thursday, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office and the Albany Police Department helped with the 787 investigation.
