Police arrest woman for alleged Colonie St. stabbing
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Albany Police arrested a woman in connection to a 300 block of Colonie Street stabbing on Friday. Police said Dominica Ghilani, 31, was charged with one count of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon after allegedly stabbing a 37-year-old man.
According to police, the stabbing happened around 7 p.m. for a man with a stab wound to the back. While investigating, police were told the suspect went inside the residence just before they arrived.
When vacating the building, Ghilani was taken into custody. Police said the incident stemmed from an argument between Ghilani and the victim, who are neighbors, resulting in the stabbing.
The victim was treated on the scene and transported to Albany Medical Center, where he remains in stable condition. Ghilani was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court Saturday morning.
