One killed, five injured in Middletown fire
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Law enforcement and fire officials are investigating a fatal fire that killed one person and injured five on Friday. Middletown Fire Department officials said the blaze on Knapp Avenue broke out around 5:21 a.m., and crews were on the scene within four minutes of the fire being called in.
Fire officials said significant portions of the home were engulfed when they arrived, and it was under control by 12:48 p.m. They said the name of the person who died would not be released until the family had been notified.
The five injured residents were transported to Garnet Medical Center for various injuries. The fire and circumstances leading up to the fire remain under investigation by local agencies
