Powerful Pitching Performance From Justin Schofield Carries Bear Creek Express Past J B and into Championship Saturday at 2024 ISC WT

Justin Schofield struck out 16 batters as the hurler led Bear Creek Express past J B 2-0 on Friday in an Elimination Bracket contest on Friday afternoon at Surrey, B.C. Justin Schofield allowed three hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking none.

Both teams were strong in the circle. Bear Creek Express pitchers struck out 16, while J B sat down 13.

A double play put Bear Creek Express on the board in the bottom of the fourth.

Bear Creek Express scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run to center field by Jordan Pomeroy.

Maiker Pimentel began the game for J B. The hurler allowed three hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out 13 and walking one.

Jordan Pomeroy went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Jordan Pomeroy, Thomas Enoka, and Brandon Horn each collected one hit for Bear Creek Express. Bear Creek Express were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Ryan Boland made the most plays with 16.

Juan Villalvazo, Rafael Flores, and Cesar Rodriguez each collected one hit for J B. J B turned one double play in the game.

Bear Creek is one of four teams to make it to Championship Saturday at the 2024 ISC World Tournament. They will play the Hill United Chiefs at 9:30 AM PDT tomorrow morning and would need to win three games in a row on Saturday to win the championship. (The New York Gremlins play the NE Drillers tonight in the Winner’s Bracket Final, the loser playing the winner of the Bear Creek-Hill United contest for the right to face the Winner’s Bracket champion.
