Olympics | Finucane, Friedrich look string as they progress to women's sprint semifinals

PARIS, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- World champion Emma Finucane moved into the semifinals of the women's sprint competition at the Olympic velodrome on Saturday with a controlled display of sprinting.

21-year-old Finucane, who has a bronze from keirin and a gold from team sprint, won her first two quarterfinals against Martha Bayona Pineda of Colombia to not need the decisive third sprint.
