“Pakistan Will Beat India”: Ex-Pakistan Pacer Claims Beating India After Bad SL Series

0

Former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed shared his thoughts on India’s batting lineup after they had to face an ODI series loss by 2-0 to Sri Lanka. Tanvir expressed his concern that India’s young players may not be able to keep up the batting legacy left behind by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. This loss marked India’s first series loss to Sri Lanka after 27 years. India and Pakistan, commonly referred to as historic rivals, are now to face each other in ICC events because of India’s privacy policy, that avoids bilateral series with Pakistan due to concerns regarding safety.

“First look into your own performances and then have suggestions on Pakistan. If Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah does not play against Pakistan, Pakistan will beat India hands down,” said Tanvir.

“They might score runs in their home conditions on flat pitches but on pitches where the ball turns, seams, and swings, this lineup of India does not have the life to bat in those conditions. They could have scored runs in the first match that ended in a tie. Could have scored runs in the second and the third ODI as well.” he added.

Tanvir also gave a suggestion that even though India’s bowling could end up being effective in the future, Indian batters are capable of scoring runs , primarily on flat surfaces and in familiar conditions.

“You see what happens to the Indian batting lineup from here on the future. The bowling might work it out but the batting lineup will find it difficult. All the new batters in this Indian team at the moment, barring Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, they cannot carry forward this batting lineup in the future,” he said.
