There’s winning a race, and then there’s winning a race. The United States team did the latter in the women’s 4x400m relay to close out track and field at the 2024 Olympics, utterly dominating the rest of the field as they cruised to gold.

Shamier Little opened up the relay with a strong run for the Americans, but it was Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone who busted things open on the second leg. Gabby Thomas and anchor Alexis Holmes had Katie Ledecky-sized leads over the rest of the field, eventually finishing first by nearly 4.5 seconds.
It was a truly remarkable performance, setting a new American Record.
