The four clues Stephanie Davis was secretly pregnant and how she hid it amid horror health fears
ACTRESS Stephanie Davis has revealed she is pregnant with her first child with partner Joe McKalroy.
The star, 31, has kept her bump underwraps until now after a series of concerning health scares, which left her fearing for her unborn child.
Stephanie Davis hid her pregnancy by wearing dresses in a different style to her usual[/caption]But some fans have suspected she was having her second child after spotting a series of clues.
The first one was her lack of social media posts – Steph was unusually quiet on her Instagram post.
When she did post Steph was very careful to make sure Caben was standing in front of her.
She was also seen wearing a number of loose fitting dresses, which are not like her usual style at all.
The Hollyoaks actress even admitted in one picture that she was borrowing her mother-in-law’s dress.
Her followers also spotted a change in her appearance and commented on how much she was glowing.
On some pictures in June, one person remarked: “You’re so beautiful Stephanie, your happiness blooms out of you for all to see, it’s lovely xx”
Another added: “I love how happy you are. It just lights you up completely.”
And on Father’s Day, Stephanie posted a particularly loving message for Joe about his ability as a dad – secretly knowing he was set to become one.
She shared: “Joe, you are an angel from above. It’s like we have always been in each other’s lives, I cannot remember life before you or without you in it. You are the most amazing daddy! I couldn’t have wished for a better partner or father.”
Tough pregnancy
Stephanie and Joe revealed they were expecting a baby boy today, but it’s been a difficult journey so far.
The star explained to Ok!: “After my previous miscarriage, I thought, ‘God’s going to be good to us, it’ll be plain sailing.’ But that’s not how life works.
“It’s been… a roller coaster.”
The actress and Joe had been trying for a baby for two years and were looking at fertility treatment when she fell pregnant naturally.
She was told she would be at high risk of miscarriage and the doctor’s even thought she was miscarrying again.
Steph explained: “The doctor said he believed I was having another miscarriage – or an ectopic pregnancy. But I wasn’t having it, I had this strong gut feeling that it was all going to be OK.”
But she was later told she had a haematoma and was put on complete bed rest.
A haematoma is a collection of blood which is located outside the blood vessels.
Amazingly the haematoma disappeared but in a cruel twist she then picked up C-diff on holiday.
C-diff is a germ (bacterium) that causes diarrhoea and colitis.
She said: “I was terrified. I’m still on medication to treat it, but I’m slowly recovering.”
What are symptoms of early miscarriage?
The most clear sign a woman is having a miscarriage is bleeding, varying from light spotting to heavy blood clots.
But bear in mind, some bleeding during the first three months of pregnancy is normal and does not necessarily mean a miscarriage – contact the maternity team or GP as soon as possible.
Other symptoms of a miscarriage include:
- cramping and pain in your lower tummy
- a discharge of fluid from your vagina
- a discharge of tissue from your vagina
- no longer experiencing the symptoms of pregnancy, such as feeling sick and breast tenderness
