Eva Mendes Revealed How She Felt About Daughters’ Faces Being Blurred at 2024 Olympics in Rare Response

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling made an ultra-rare public appearance earlier this month, alongside their kids, and Mendes just commented on how the paparazzi handled their daughters’ privacy.

Back on Aug 4, many fans saw the family of four at the Summer Olympics, watching the women’s uneven bars final. While we could see Mendes and Gosling rocking casual looks, we didn’t see their daughters’ faces. (Their faces are blurred in all the photos to ensure their privacy!)

And because of this, Mendes spoke about it publicly in a super-rare post. On Aug. 6, Mendes shared a selfie saying, “Morning in Paris. Sleep marks and all. The minute I see photographers when I’m out, my guard and my wall goes up. So I wanted to share this. So grateful to @hotellutetia for the best experience. ????”

Along with this, she responded to a commenter who was concerned about the kiddos privacy at the Olympics, saying, “They were great about not posing the kids so I’m a grateful mama bear. Thx for a loving comment. Sending it right back! ❤️.”

So many celebrity parents discuss how hard it is to ensure their childrens’ privacy while being in the public eye, but no matter where you saw photos of the family of four, their daughters’ faces couldn’t be seen. We love it when people take the extra mile!

For those who don’t know, Mendes and Gosling were originally friends before their romance heated up on the set of the film The Place Beyond the Pines, in 2012.

They’ve been together ever since and have since welcomed two daughters named Esmerelda Amada, born on Sept. 12, 2014 , and Amada, born on April 29, 2016. (For those who don’t know, “Amada” means love, and it was Mendes’ grandmother’s name, and it’s Cuban tradition to have similar names, per The List.)

In a previous interview with People in 2019, Mendes said she finds her kids “inspiring” because of their creativity. “They’ll just be like, ‘Can I wear socks on my hands today?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, of course you can wear socks on your hands today.’ So we make that happen.”
