Tamirat Tola clinched the Olympic men's marathon in Paris, clocking a record 2:06:26. He outpaced Belgium's Bashir Abdi and Kenya's Benson Kipruto to secure gold. Eliud Kipchoge, aiming for his third Olympic gold, withdrew around the 30 km mark. The race followed a historic route from central Paris to Versailles.
