Last week saw one of the largest prisoner exchanges between Russia and Western countries in over three decades. Of course, it is immensely satisfying to witness the release of innocent people from the Belarusian and Russian prisons. However, the policy of exchanging hostages held by authoritarian regimes for professional spies could entail serious challenges to the security of Western countries, Igor Gretski writes.
