KU men's basketball adds transfer guard from Northern Illinois
LAWRENCE (KSNT) - After a quiet summer, KU men's basketball is back making late offseason moves.
Norther Illinois transfer David 'Diggy' Coit has committed to Bill Self and the Jayhawks, as he announced on social media on Friday. Coit, a 5-foot-11 guard with one year of eligibility remaining, averaged 20.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in 2023.
The New Jersey native also shot a consistent 40.7% from the floor and 33.7% from behind the arc last season. Prior to the two seasons he spent at Northern Illinois, he played at Atlantic Cape Community College for one year.
Coit is now KU's fifth transfer addition this offseason. The Jayhawks most recently added Shakeel Moore from Mississippi State in June, Noah Shelby from Rice, Rylan Griffen from Alabama, AJ Storr from Wisconsin and Zeke Mayo from South Dakota.
