2 state prison guards arrested, accused of sex with inmates

An officer at a Louisiana prison has been arrested amid allegations she had an “unprofessional relationship” with an inmate and smuggled cellphones to another. In a news release Friday, the state Department of Public Safety and Corrections said Iberville Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested 22-year-old Ja’Camry Davis on one count of malfeasance in office-sexual conduct with an inmate and three counts of introduction of contraband into a penal institution. Davis worked at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. During questioning, authorities said she admitted to the alleged crimes and resigned. The Advocate reports another correctional employee, 22-year-old Arraneisha Valentine, was arrested Wednesday on the same malfeasance charge.
