Plea deal offered to suspect in infant's death
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A plea deal was offered to one of the suspects charged in the 2019 death of an infant in Cohoes. If Anthony Ojeda pleads guilty to manslaughter, he would face 15 to 20 years in prison as well as probation. He was also charged with second degree murder.
The defense has until the end of August to respond. Ojeda and his husband, Neil Garzon, were captured in Mexico after years on the run.
Investigators said the 6-month-old child died after ingesting drugs. Ojeda and Garzon went missing for more than two years after failing to show up for a court appearance.
