Reacts: Lakers fans give the team a failing grade this offseason
A lack of moves has fans frustrated with the front office's efforts to build a winner in Los Angeles.

The offseason usually brings a lot of change to every team as they retool and improve on their previous season's weaknesses.
The Lakers, however, have been as active as a rock this summer, adding no free agents.
Sure, they re-signed Max Christie and players like D'Angelo Russell and Christian Wood opted into their contracts, but what moves have they made to improve their 47-win team?
Is running it back and implementing an entirely new coaching staff led by JJ Redick enough to give LeBron James and Anthony Davis one last shot at the title?
Is the lack of moves justifiable, given that, as LeBron says, "It takes two to tango," and players have to want to come here to get a deal done?
According to our latest SB Nation Reacts poll, the majority of Lakers fans don't think the front office has done an excellent job this summer. They've given this franchise a failing grade.
This grade from Lakers fans surprised me. I understand the frustration with a lack of moves and refusing to hear or care why a job is hard. Still, the team did get Russell back, so he didn't leave for nothing.
Christie is returning and ready for a bigger role. With Dalton Knecht looking like another excellent draft pick, why can't this team improve by five games and be a 50-plus-win team this upcoming season?
Should they still get a failing grade if they reach a top-four spot in the Western Conference by standing pat and bringing in a new coaching staff?
Maybe so, given how much we heard about what they wanted to do and seeing them come up empty-handed.
It was reported that LeBron was willing to take a pay cut to open up the non-taxpayer midlevel exception if they could get a quality player in Los Angeles. There were talks surrounding Klay Thompson and DeMar DeRozan, among others, but no trades happened, no player signed for the midlevel and the Lakers came out with nothing.
Fans are frustrated by this lack of execution when their star player is willing to sacrifice millions of dollars. In their eyes, vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka did nothing but fail this summer and they've given him and the Lakers a grade that reflects that.
