COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – One person was in critical condition Friday morning after being shot on the Southeast Side.

Columbus police told NBC4 they responded to reports of a shooting just before 7:30 a.m. Friday, near the 2500 block of Kimberly Parkway East, in the Eastland neighborhood. Two witnesses called 911 and told police that a neighbor of theirs at The Flats on Kimberly had been shot.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and listed in critical condition. A Friday afternoon update from polices said the victim was expected to recover.

A suspect has been identified – 60-year-old Roberto Stevenson – but he was not at the scene when police arrived, an incident report said.

The shooting occurred just minutes away from a separate shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon, when a 13-year-old boy was shot and killed. He initially was in critical condition throughout Thursday night but died early Friday morning.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Columbus Police Felony Assault Unit at (614) 645-4141 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477).
