Report: Dominic Solanke to Tottenham reports are premature – Work still to be done
TalkSPORT report that Tottenham are indeed in advanced talks with Bournemouth over the potential transfer of Dominic Solanke, but nothing has been agreed yet – despite other claims.
Tottenham are ready to spend big on Solanke
The Sun claimed earlier this week that Tottenham Hotspur are now ‘ready’ to break their transfer record to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.
With the new season now a little more than a week away, Tottenham finally seem to be showing some urgency in the transfer window as they plot a move for the English striker.
Various outlets have reported over recent days that Spurs are making progress in their talks with Bournemouth about the centre-forward, and it appears that progress has peaked this morning.
Tottenham are in advanced Solanke talks
Duncan Castles and David Ornstein led the way this morning with their reports that Bournemouth had agreed the club-record sale of Dominic Solanke to Tottenham.
Alasdair Gold later confirmed that Spurs are ‘closing in’ on the signing, with Solanke himself showing a great ‘desire’ to wear the Lilywhite shirt of Tottenham.
However, TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook has now revealed that things are not quite that far along. Although he admits Spurs are in ‘advanced talks’ with Bournemouth, it appears a fee/deal has not been agreed quite yet.
He tweeted: ‘Tottenham are now in advanced talks with Bournemouth re Dominic Solanke. Nothing agreed yet but Spurs are pushing for what is likely to be a club-record deal.’
Either way, there seem to be good indications that a deal is moving in the right direction.

It is now clear that Solanke is Tottenham’s top priority, with the club seemingly looking to complete the deal swiftly so that they can turn their attention to their midfield and winger targets.
He could be a really underrated signing for Spurs this summer.
