Civilization 7 release window leaks – well now we know roughly when it’s going to be released, but it seems a little close to us
There are a lot of us hoping that Civ 7 is going to be a great game. We all got very excited at the first look of a CGI trailer and a title screen not that long ago, and more recently were informed that on 21st August we will get a look at the game for the first time, the day after the gameplay reveal trailer. Up until now however we have had no clue of a release date.
Now Game Informer is reporting that Take 2’s latest earning reports is giving us a concrete release date.
In a table tucked within the document, we can see Civilization VII in all its glory with its platforms listed as PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S Xbox One, PC, and the important bit – its release date is down as Q4 Fiscal 2025.
This, as GI rightly informs us places its release sometime before 31st March 2025, which at the time of writing is just over 230 days away. Obviously this is possible and it would be great if it turned out to be the case, but in an era of “sorry, it’s the news none of us wanted to break but we are putting the launch of (insert most game titles recently) back by six months because to allow us time to give it the polish it deserves”, this seems mightly close considering we haven’t seen a peep of the actual game yet.
It may be an aspirational best-case scenario date, work may have been going on for years and 2K may be getting ready to reveal a near-completed product, but with a franchise as beloved as Civilization, there is zero room to make a Cities Skylines 2 out of it.
Looking at it more positively we may get that date confirmed on 20th August and that trailer could well end on a date which would be amazing. We don’t have too long to wait. These are exciting times for Civ fans.
