FORT RILEY (KSNT) - A former U.S. Army soldier stationed at Fort Riley was sentenced to more than 20 years in federal prison for sex and abuse crimes related to a 13-year-old victim.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Wednesday, Aug. 7 that Adrian Dale Tsinnijinnie, 37, was sentenced to 23 years in prison. This stems from allegations that, while stationed at Fort Riley from November 2020 to January 2021, he used a social media app to groom and coerce a 13-year-old who was living in New Mexico to create sexually explicit images. Tsinnijinnie would then send back explicit photos and videos of himself.

Tsinnijinnie traveled to New Mexico in June 2021 while on leave where he sexually abused the victim on several occasions. The victim would later confess of what was happening to her father in July 2021, leading to a police report and medical examination.

The DOJ said Tsinnijinnie will be subject to 10 years of supervised release after his time in prison and will have to register as a sex offender. The Farmington Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office investigated this case with help from the Navajo Police Department.
