UltraTech has acquired 32.72% stake for ₹3,945 crore in India Cements, which has over seven decades of history and strong brands. The company was formed in 1946, thanks to the efforts of S.N.N. Sankaralinga Iyer, a banker from Kallidaikurichi in Tirunelveli, and his young partner from Thanjavur T.S. Narayanaswami, the father of N. Srinivasan
