2024 Sugar Bowl Country Concert kickoff canceled
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officials with the Ticketmaster announced that the 2024 Louisiana Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff concert has been canceled.
The event was originally set to happen on Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Caesars Superdome with artists such as Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, Jon Pardi and Ashley McBryde hitting the stage.
WGNO did reach out to the Sugar Bowl communication team but a reason for the cancellation has not been given.
Sugar Bowl officials said in April that they were excited for the second annual event to happen reflecting on the success of the first-ever Country Concert Kickoff with superstar and headliner Garth Brooks and Louisiana's own Lainey Wilson.
According to Ticketmaster officials, anyone who has already purchased tickets do not need to take actions and that refunds will be sent automatically.
