Martin Zubimendi In ‘Sea Of Doubt’, Liverpool Yet To Get Final OK

Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi is yet to give his final consent to Liverpool to contact Real Sociedad and discuss the payment of his release clause.

 

Liverpool have been growing in confidence about signing the Spain international this summer since first contact with the player two weeks ago.

 

The Reds have been in talks with Zubimendi and his entourage to convince him to move to Anfield this summer.

 

 

The idea of playing for Liverpool in the Champions League is tempting for the Spaniard but he has not made a final decision yet.

 

According to local Spanish daily Noticias de Gipuzkoa, Liverpool are still patiently waiting for the green light from the player to contact Real Sociedad.

 

 

He has a €60m release clause in his contract but the Reds are yet to get the player’s final approval to open talks with Real Sociedad over its payment.

 

However, Sociedad are less pessimistic since Wednesday about holding on to the player this summer.

 

 

La Real are planning a fresh charm offensive to convince Zubimendi to stay at Sociedad and help the club get back into the Champions League.

 

The midfielder is in a ‘sea of doubt’ over leaving the Spanish club despite his advisors telling him to take up the opportunity to join Liverpool.
