NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York state is in the process of sending out checks to over 1 million families enrolled in the Empire State Child Credit program.
The checks are a supplemental payment in addition to the money families in the program received when they filed their taxes for the 2023 tax year, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul.
How much could families expect to get this time around?
You could potentially get up to $330 per child, according to Hochul. The payment ranges between 25-100% of what you got from the program during the tax season.
To qualify for the additional payment, you must've gotten at least $100 from the Empire State Child Credit program.
Over 100,000 checks will be sent out daily, according to Hochul. The state is giving out $350 million in total.
