Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 gives fans a first look at Zombies gameplay
CALL of Duty: Black Ops 6 is still two months away from its launch on October 25, 2024, but Activision is giving us small glimpses of what is to come.
A new cinematic trailer for Black Ops 6 Zombies was released yesterday (August 7), and now there’s even more for Call of Duty fans.
Zombies is looking scarier and better than ever[/caption]The first trailer gave us a glimpse into the story for Zombies, which will see the team break out of Edward Richtofen’s jail.
They are helped by Dr. William Peck and a new character, smuggler Maya Aguinaldo, before fighting breaks out between the two groups.
The fighting abruptly stops, when an alarm rings out across the island, letting them know that a new zombie outbreak has just begun.
While the trailer revealed a lot about the mode’s story, we didn’t see anything from the gameplay.
That’s why Activision released a second trailer that focuses specifically on this aspect of the game.
The new trailer is two minutes long and continues on from where the cinematic trailer leaves off.
While it is called a gameplay trailer, it still features a lot of cinematics interspersed with the first-person shooting action.
The gameplay looks similar to previous Zombies modes, where your squad works together to team up against hordes of undead enemies.
However, the big announcement from the trailer is that Round-Based Zombies mode is back.
This is like a survival version of Zombies, in which the enemies come in increasingly large and difficult waves and you see how far your team can survive.
In recent entries, Zombies changed from this horde-style gameplay to open-world exploration with puzzle solving, but this iteration was not as popular with players.
Fans are particularly excited to see the round-based zombies return to test out their shooting skills.
One Twitter user wrote: “We are so back. Treyarch never fails, the absolute GOAT studio. Let’s go!”
Another added: “It looks like Zombies again. Love it.”
Many pointed out what looked like new weapons in the trailer that they wanted to try out, and the overall reaction is hugely positive.
It seems that people are just happy to see their favourite mode make a comeback, and while it could be seen as a step back for the franchise, players see it as a move in the right direction.
