Chelsea vs Inter Milan preview
It’s not entirely fair given he’s barely unboxed his personal belongings, but Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca finds himself under pressure before the 2024-25 season has even started!
The Blues have won just one of their five pre-season friendlies and shipped 12 goals in the process.
Chelsea were beaten by Real Madrid, Manchester City, Celtic and were fortunate to come away with a 2-2 draw against Wrexham in Santa Clara.
And it’s not like he was fielding the academy prospects with the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Reece James, Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling and Wesley Fofana all available throughout.
The visit of Inter Milan, the Serie A champions, represents Enzo’s final chance to pull things together ahead of next week’s Premier League opener against Manchester City.
That could be easier said than done given Inter’s domestic campaign starts on the same weekend, and manager Simone Inzaghi is likely to field his strongest starting XI at Stamford Bridge.
